You know I am not shy about my love for Trader Joe’s grocery items, but there’s one secret I haven’t given away yet and it’s not a food product. I think the best $1 purchase at Trader Joe’s is their greeting cards. With themes ranging from celebration to sympathy, the selection always impresses me. Once I have loaded up my cart with food for the week, I scoot over to the cards area and explore the adorable designs. Every card has a unique illustration that is sweet, funny or timely for the occasion, but thankfully never too cheesy.
Lately I have been making an effort to think ahead of time for friend’s birthdays, holidays (Mother’s Day is May 14!) and special occasions for family members. My mom was always the best at sending cards at the perfect time. She even had a mini filing box to organize the cards by the month she would use them. This left an impression on people–they still tell me how they remember she always took the time to write a card!
Even though a text message, FaceTime date or group email is an easy way to stay connected to people, I would like to keep snail mail alive. The inexpensive, but high quality cards at Trader Joe’s have allowed me to do so without breaking the bank! I now look forward to sending my best friend a “just because” note or giving my roommate a cute thank you note for filming Gourmet Gab videos.
What do you think? Have you purchased cards at Trader Joe’s before?
Love food. Love self. Love life.
