Hello 2017!

January 3, 2017

The last two days of 2017 have felt so happy. I love the positivity that is spreading among friends, family and social media. I am harnessing all this momentum to kick-off the new year in the best way possible. After the holiday vacation I feel so ready to take on 2017. Here’s what I’ve got on my mind for the year…

Coming Soon: A New Look

I am beyond excited to share this news! After four years of the current Gourmet Gab logo, it is time for a complete refresh and redesign with the help of Phoenix artist, Paige Poppe. I have known Paige since high school and we reconnected last year via social media. She is known for her gorgeous dessert paintings, watercolor art and bright colors. Not only is she updating the branding, but you’ll also see those changes carry through to the website, newsletters, videos and more within the next month. You may even be able to purchase Gourmet Gab swag items!

New Content

During my vacation home to Phoenix for the holidays I spent a lot of time working on new posts to share with you all over the next few months. It felt so great to write leisurely (ahead of time!) about content I think you all will be inspired by! Not to mention, I have some incredibly gorgeous photos from Brooke Marcella to accompany.

Recipes Once a Week

If it really is time for “new year, new you!” then we need some more new recipes on Gourmet Gab! My goal for the blog this year is to post at least one new recipe every week. This may seem like an obvious, but I want to be sure it’s in writing so I can deliver new recipes and meal ideas to you every week of the year.

Kitchen Smarts

Drum roll please: My personal goal for the year is to further my culinary education. I’m a self-taught home cook who’s been educated by Food Network television for 20 years, but I’m ready to take it up a notch. In 2017, I am committed to investing in my passion. I haven’t yet honed in on the specifics, but I promise to share once I have all the details. In the meantime, I’m being more active about reading cookbooks and watching specific cooking videos to learn new techniques.

Real Life

This year I will be moving from Indianapolis, Indiana to a new city…I just don’t know which that will be yet! While it will be bittersweet to leave my Indy fam, as I call them, I am ready for the next adventure and looking forward to settling in a new home for a few years with a new job. Now the question is, east coast or west?

First Ever Intern

I’m really looking forward to having the first ever intern position on Gourmet Gab this year! It felt like the perfect way to go big in 2017. I cannot wait to meet this gal or guy and welcome them into our Gourmet Gab team. Apply now to join our gourmet crew!

Stay tuned via social media (Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat) and sign up for my Gourmet Gab emails to be sure you don’t miss a post. As always, I love hearing your feedback and can’t wait to bring you lots of gourmet goodness in 2017. It’s going to be a great one!

Love food. Love self. Love life.
